Whilst studying at Bournemouth University, Lucy got accepted onto an internship in dressmaking where she learnt everything from constructing dress patterns, designing and sewing techniques. She soon fell in love with designing and making her own clothing.
After many years of experimenting and learning new skills she finally started her own dressmaking business. Everything from the designing, pattern making and construction is done from scratch by Lucy. Fashion from the 1950s,1960s and 1970s has inspired her designing process.
After making vintage style everyday fashion Lucy finally made her first wedding dress and this started something special. Now she is dedicated to making unique wedding dresses for non-traditional brides. With her background in quirky vintage fashion you can really see it shine through her bridal collection. Splashes of colour, interesting shapes, designs and fabrics will give you that unique dress for your big day. Lucy is always experimenting with new dye techniques and styles to give you exciting new designs.
In 2015 Lucy received funding and support from The Princes Trust to help her progress her business. Since then the business has grown and developed into a recognisable brand with unique designs. With features in Vogue magazine and websites such as Today.com and Boredpanda.com Lucy Can't Dance is storming through the bridal industry.
Lucy is currently working on a brand new collection. The dresses will be full of interesting fabrics, colours and shapes. The new collection will be available from May 2017.
